ALERT 75/26 On 13 July 2026 at 2104 UTC, MSCIO received information regarding an attack against a merchant vessel approximately 40 NM northeast of Qalhat, Oman. According to the information received, the Master of a tanker reported that the vessel had been struck by an unknown projectile, which impacted the starboard side engine room. All crew have been reported safe and accounted for, and no environmental impact has been reported. The relevant authorities are investigating the incident. Vessels operating in the area are advised to maintain heightened vigilance, adhere to BMP-MS, and report immediately to MSCIO and UKMTO any suspicious activity or incidents.
