ALERT 100/26 MSCIO has received information regarding an incident at approximately 20:25 UTC on 24 August 2026, 9NM northeast of Ash Shishah, Oman. An oil tanker reportedly was struck by an unknown projectile, causing damage to the engine room and leaving the vessel disabled. The crew are reported safe. The environmental impact remains unknown. Vessels operating in the area are advised to maintain heightened vigilance, adhere to BMP-MS, and report immediately any suspicious activity or relevant information to MSCIO and UKMTO.
