Date: 08NOV25 ALERT 016/25. The Pirate Action Group (PAG) linked to recent incidents is being monitored closely by the Indian Navy and EUNAVFOR Operation ATALANTA and there is currently no threat from this group to merchant vessels. Vessels are advised to maintain general awareness and continue reporting to MSCIO and UKMTO if any suspicious activity is observed. UPDATE 01 (09NOV): The Pirate Action Group linked to recent incidents continues to be monitored by EUNAVFOR Operation ATALANTA in close coordination with the Indian Navy. UPDATE 02 (10NOV): The Pirate Action Group (PAG) linked to recent incidents continues to be closely monitored by EUNAVFOR Operation ATALANTA, in coordination with Somali authorities. The PAG’s current location is for the moment well away from the main sea lines of communication, and it is therefore assessed that it poses no threat to merchant vessels at this time. MSCIO will continue to issue updates as new information becomes available. Vessels are advised to remain clear of the Somali coast and report immediately any suspicious activity to MSCIO and UKMTO. UPDATE 03 (11 NOV) : Operation ATALANTA has verified on scene that the dhow “Issamohahmadi”, linked to recent piracy incidents, is no longer associated with any Pirate Action Group (PAG) and does not pose a threat to merchant vessels. Vessels are advised to remain cautious when transiting through the western region of the Indian Ocean and to avoid sailing close to the Somali coast, whenever possible. Masters are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to MSCIO and UKMTO.
