Suspicious Activity

N° ALERT: 19/25 DATE: 06DEC2025 / 0700 UTC MSCIO has received a report stating that a dhow was attacked by one skiff armed with AK47. The attack occurred approximately 20NM off the Eyl District while the dhow was transiting from Kismayo to Berbera. The vessel and her crew are reported to be safe and have continued their transit. Vessels are strongly advised to maintain maximum practicable distance from the coastline in this area, exercise enhanced vigilance, comply with BMP-MS recommendations, and immediately report any suspicious activity to MSCIO and UKMTO. UPDATE01: 10DEC. After further investigation event has been downgraded to suspicious activity.
